Beginnings

Scattered across my bookshelves are notebooks of sketches; sketches done during travels to a country with an unforgettable landscape.  Italy.  The seeds of my art lay in these journeys which I embarked on with unending fascination during my early studies in Architecture.  While these journeys inspired travels to other faraway places, they ultimately kept beckoning me to return.  And so I did. 

I start sharing my thoughts here, reflecting back on those moments of documenting city, street, piazza, and monument. Impressions made through the disciplined art of drawing from observation; a practice I have come to thoroughly enjoy wherever I travel.  

It is my hope that through my written words, painted images, and drawn compositions shared here, I can celebrate that sense of longing for faraway places that have inspired and moved you in your own personal journeys.
