Thank you for your interest in commissioning an original watercolor from Sophia A Khan. I look forward to creating a bespoke work of art for you. The below information addresses answers to FAQs, and outlines the terms and conditions for commissioning a watercolor.

Timeframe / Process

Current time frames for painting watercolors, once the deposit is received, are as noted below:
2 - 4 weeks for 9” x 12”
3 - 6 weeks for 11” x 14”
5 - 8 weeks for 16” x 20” and larger

Early on in the process, I will email you a private link to view a small sample watercolor, for your approval. This will give you a good idea of what the final watercolor will look like to assure that it will be to your liking. You may also request any changes that you would like to see incorporated into the final painting.

Your deposit includes up to (2) sample watercolors to be viewed by you online. Should you like to see additional sample watercolors, prior to my painting the final piece, these will be charged at $50 each. Please note that requests for additional sample watercolors may also increase the timeframe for completion.

Pricing / Deposit

A deposit for half the cost of the commission is required for bookings.* The remaining balance + shipping charges are due upon completion of the watercolor, prior to shipment.**

In the event that you choose not to make the final payment for the commission, the finished watercolor will remain the property of the artist, and it may be offered for sale to others. All deposits and payments made to the artist are non refundable.

Pricing will vary, depending upon size and complexity, and are as listed below:

9” x 12”: starting at $770
11” x 14”” starting at $970

Testimonials

Kindly enjoy testimonials from past clients and collectors:

Linda Lepe, Madison, WI:

On why she chose to commission a Watercolor from me:

"My parents have loved their international travel experiences. They are getting older and not able to travel much anymore. I wanted to take a happy trip memory and bring it alive for them…"

On the process:

"It was easy! Sophia let me know exactly what I needed to provide her to get started. Then she gave me updates to show the progress of the commission. It was a great experience for me since I have never seen a commission come to life."

On seeing the finished Watercolor:

"I had tears! My parents have both had health issues in the last year, and to see something so beautiful created just for them was a special experience for me. Plus Sophia has an artist's talent with a lovely heart to match. She took the time to understand the story behind the picture and capture the essence of the memory."

Lyn, UK:

"I received my Limited Edition Print...and I just have to write and tell you that I was delighted simply while unwrapping it....The pride in your work and painstaking care taken is evident from the personal touches....the Certificate of Authenticity is a thing of beauty in its own right. The print itself is so beautiful, breathtaking...It will be like a window of sunshine on my wall. I am very proud to own such a piece."

Wendy, UK:

"Thank you Sophia for the beautiful print...It is for dear friends who visited Venice this year and remarked how magical it was. Your print will be a precious reminder of that time..."
